RAIN   DROPS

What else    was there to do    on a raining day

I thought    as the droplets came down

Performing their effortless  ridum of a curtain dance

Swaying    back and forth

Preceptively   moving  in and out   of each other

as I counted   each   in turn

while mimicking their movements

almost in a trance  like  state

I zeroed in on a single droplet  in its descention

while two forces   moving in    unison

as    time       paused

Where I could almost   see the tear shape of the droplet

just before   it  exploded    against  your  lips

You looked up at me    we laughed

Enjoying  this  way   to spend a  day

Counting      rain    drops
