SCEF "Hip-Hop Is Poetry"

Originally from Newton, a small rural town in East Texas, SCEF was
introduced to music by his oldest brother, Clarence, a local DJ of
Denver. As a youth, SCEF entered many local talent shows and
performed at school related events. The youngest of five, he was
influenced by early rap pioneers Rakim, Public Enemy, Kool Moe Dee
and Rhythm and Blues artists including Curtis Mayfield, Stevie
Wonder, Issac Hayes, the late John Lee Hooker and the Isley
Brothers.Hip-Hop is Poetry. The debut album by Charles Forward,
aka SCEF, combines hip-hop music, live instrumentation, and
conscience lyrics for the soul. If you love poetry and hip-hop, you'll love
this honest expression of thought provoking sound.

Quiet Talker " Pocket Whispers"

Born in Galveston but raised in Houston as a quiet timid mild
mannered lady of many blessings. She's a vessel of many words
across numerous topics and categories. All through her life she's
been told to speak up because of her quiet spoken voice. Because of
this, her mother called her "Quiet Talker". She's her mother's "Q.T".
She's been writing poetry since grade school but only two years ago
she rediscovered her gift and started collecting and sharing it with
others. The introduction to this wonderful phase in her life was
awakened when she started frequenting different poetry spots in
Houston back in 2005.

Marie Brown is a native of San Antonio, Texas. She has lived in
Houston for twenty years. Marie is a poet, spoken-word artist and
songwriter. Marie is a former member of the Texas Southern
University Debate Team under the leadership of Dr. Thomas F.
Freeman; placed first in prose at the University of Nebraska in 1988
as a rookie member of the team.
Marie feels it is her duty as a poet to motivate, stimulate and educate
listeners and readers how the world is seen through the eyes of a
Black girl child now a woman living an ordinary life.
In 2003 She released her first cd "Ruby Do Hair".
In 2005 Marie released her second cd" Home-Grown."
