The Race Card

Deception perceived as righteous

Penetration of your mind

And you thought bondage was shackles

But only tangibility was declined

Often it is said

How society keeps you down

You try to play the race card standing on shaky ground

You say it’s offensive

The “N word they use

Among your own it’s just slang

The same “N word they choose

Self-education

The benefits you’ll reap

While we’re behind the curtain

They’re still behind the sheet

The decision is yours

You can choose today

No matter who you are

The “N word is not okay

Are you willing to die

For what you believe

Or did you make another promise

On New Year’s Eve
